Every two years, the state office organizes the Bavarian Museum Day, which offers a forum for exchange and discussion on topics of museum work and has developed into one of the largest museum specialist conferences in German-speaking countries. The Bavarian Museum Day always takes place in each of the seven Bavarian districts in the "odd" years.
