Many users praise quick access and the value of CR's testing on mobile, but a large share report serious stability and usability issues, plus login/billing frustrations and web-app content gaps. Device compatibility and a suboptimal search experience further undermine satisfaction. Overall, the app risks undermining the brand's credibility unless stability, accessibility, and parity with the website improve.

Recent reviews

Consumer Reports used to be a reliable source for product testing results. Currently this app won't let me in because CR wants me to pay to access their info even though I am a paid member who can access the information through their website on a Chrome browser. Their shopping links are a constant source of frustration--some links take you to different products, Amazon links often don't even show the correct product with a myriad of other products. Smart Buy choices seem crazy at times.

stuck on the splash screen. clearing app data didn't resolve the issue. I'm guessing there are server issues. it would be nice to have UI feedback if so. No one will keep the app installed if they get stuck without a simple "please try again later" message at the least
