Beacon 42

Beacon 42 is the official parade-day companion app for members of the Intergalactic Krewe of Chewbacchus, New Orleans' sci-fi, fantasy, and DIY-themed Mardi Gras krewe.

What it does

On parade day, krewe members can share their real-time location with krewe administrators. This helps coordinators keep track of where everyone is along the parade route, ensuring smooth lineup operations and quick response to any issues.

• Location sharing: Enable GPS tracking with a single tap. Your location is visible only to krewe administrators—not other members. Disable it anytime.

• Push notifications: Receive important announcements from krewe leadership during the parade, including lineup updates, route changes, and emergency communications.

• SubKrewe display: See your SubKrewe affiliation and parade position information at a glance.

• Simple, focused interface: No clutter. Just the essential tools you need on parade day.

Privacy-first design

Location sharing is entirely opt-in. When disabled, no GPS data is collected or transmitted. Location data is used solely for parade-day coordination and is not retained after the event. Push notification tokens are used exclusively for krewe communications.

About Chewbacchus

The Intergalactic Krewe of Chewbacchus is a New Orleans Mardi Gras krewe celebrating science fiction, fantasy, horror, and the nerdier side of pop culture. Founded in 2011, Chewbacchus has grown into one of the largest walking parades in New Orleans, featuring thousands of costumed members organized into dozens of SubKrewes. The krewe parades annually through the Marigny and Bywater neighborhoods.
