BlueC: Black Sea Blue Carbon

BlueC is the official mobile app of the Blue Carbon (Blue-C) project, dedicated to protecting and restoring the seagrass meadows and blue carbon ecosystems of the Black Sea.

Seagrass meadows are among the planet's most powerful natural carbon sinks. Although they cover less than 0.5% of the sea bed, they account for a large share of the carbon stored in ocean sediments. The Blue-C project works to map, monitor, and conserve these vital habitats through science, education, and regional cooperation.

The app interface is available in English, Turkish, Bulgarian, Ukrainian, and Romanian (Moldova).

ABOUT THE PROJECT
The Blue-C project is co-funded by the European Union under the Interreg NEXT programme, bringing together partners from across the Black Sea basin to advance marine conservation, monitoring, and education.
