Bare Browser

Bare is a clean, open-source browser for Android built to keep you in control of your browsing. It pairs simple, fast browsing with browser extensions, built-in ad blocking, useful media tools, and privacy-conscious defaults.

Install supported extensions such as password managers and dark-mode tools by loading a CRX file or an unpacked extension, then pin your favorites to the toolbar. Bare includes the full, removable version of uBlock Origin to block ads, trackers, pop-ups, and other unwanted page elements. Background media playback keeps supported audio and video running when you switch apps or lock your phone, and downloads can be managed inside Bare or sent to a compatible external download manager. DuckDuckGo is the default search engine on new installs, and you can add or manage other search engines in settings.

Bare does not operate analytics, advertising, telemetry, or user-tracking services, and it does not require an account or cloud sync. Your history, bookmarks, tabs, cookies, settings, and extension data stay on your device. Because Bare's source code is publicly available, anyone can review how its privacy features work. Bare is actively developed and shaped by its community.
