Identity Platform Scanner is the companion mobile app for institutions using Identity Platform to manage student and staff ID cards. Give any authorized staff member — not just admins — a fast, reliable way to confirm that a printed ID card is genuine and see who it belongs to, right from their phone.

HOW IT WORKS
Point your camera at the QR code on a student or staff ID card. The app looks up the card against your institution's live records and shows the cardholder's photo, name, department or faculty, level or category, and current card status — approved, active, or flagged. Older cards printed before QR codes were introduced can still be verified by matriculation or staff number.

WHO IT'S FOR
Any staff member at your institution can be granted access — gate security, exam invigilators, hostel staff, department administrators, and anyone else who needs to confirm an ID card is real. You don't need to be an IT administrator to use it.

SIMPLE, PASSWORDLESS SIGN-IN
There's no password to remember or lose. Enter your institutional email address, and we send a one-time six-digit code to sign you in. If a sign-in ever comes from an unrecognized device, your institution's administrators are automatically notified.

BUILT FOR ON-THE-SPOT VERIFICATION
Every scan checks live against your institution's records, so a deactivated or revoked card is flagged immediately — not just whatever was printed on the card. Nothing sensitive is stored permanently on the device between sessions.

REQUIREMENTS
This app requires an active Identity Platform account provisioned by your institution. It is not a standalone product — you'll need an institutional email address that's been granted scanner access before you can sign in.

PERMISSIONS
• Camera — to scan the QR code on a printed card
• Vibration — for haptic feedback on a successful scan
• Biometric/Fingerprint (optional) — to lock the app on your own device
No camera footage is stored or transmitted; the camera is only used live during a scan.
