Surf the internet to burst users data bubble. This extension does not collect any data about you. It simply mimics your online browsing behaviour and looks at topics that you may not be interested in to confuse trackers and advertising firms!

Features & Capabilities

OpenBubble is a browser extension that aims to confuse advertising companies such as Google, Facebook,... about your interests. Too much personalised search and algorithmic management of your access to information results in creating various bubbles around you as a user and this has obviously its benefits but also dangers. OpenBubble generates and pushes behavioural data to numerous advertising companies and corporations by obfuscating their available Application Programming Interfaces (API). OpenBubble uses obfuscation as its tactic to challenge and disrupt some of the methods commonly used on the internet to capture users’ behavioural data. By obfuscating and disrupting data surveillance, this work also expands and disrupts users’ knowledge bubbles.
