The official DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials Extension includes search search from new tab functionality, is open source and regularly updated. This one is closed source and doesn't work. | |

| 2021-02-08 |  | | Used to work great and I loved it. But now when I open a new tab it takes me to DuckDuckGo but the search bar in the page has error icon and I have to search from the address bar. Kind of defeats the purpose of the extension if you ask me. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no avail. | |

I have a little icon showing but it has no color, I click on it it offers me few 2 options "options is grayed out" "remove from chrome" or "unpin." On the very bottom, I have manage extensions, offering Duck Duck Go's New Tab, and Essentials. I have tried both, all I get is the same gray icon, the chrome address bar, with the Duck Duck Go search bar in the center of what would be my web page, a small page icon with a sad face blocking me from putting anything in that address bar. Is there a DUCK Duck Go browser and not this stupid extension, google is blocking it? | |
