'Don't discard' is a Chrome extension that allows users to prevent automatic tab discarding. With options to set conditions based on a website's URL through regular expressions, it provides flexibility for users to decide where the feature should be disabled or all tabs by default. Users will need to reload tabs for changes to take effect. Once a tab is affected, it never discards it, even if the conditions are no longer met. Reactivate discarding by altering browser settings or by restarting the browser.

The conditions to determine which tabs to be disabled can be configured at option page using regular expression based on website's url, otherwise automatic discarding will be turned off for entire tabs by default.
The relevant tabs must be reloaded to be taking effect by this extension.
Note that only "turning off discarding" will be taking care of, which means that this extension never turns it on back once a tab were effected even if the tab doesn't hit the conditions any more.
To turn on the feature again, please configure it manually by visiting browser's discarding setting page.
Also relaunching the browser itself is one of the ways to sync the actual tab's states against the configured conditions.
I added Facebook.com to the list, the icon does not turn red, looks greyed out, Facebook still refreshes the page after I minimize or change tabs, it worked with tabs, but soon as was minimized to use another browser it stopped working...
I thought the icon turned Red when 1st enabled it, it is greyed out now, like it needs permissions.
Would help if it were updated too... so back to looking for something that works both with tabs and minimizing or opening another browser...
