Old School GitHub

Old School GitHub is a Chrome extension designed to bring back the classic GitHub user interface as it appeared before the June 23, 2020 update. This update introduced a modern flat design with rounded elements and increased whitespace, which some users find less efficient or visually appealing.

Key features include moving header tabs closer to the main content for easier access on wide screens, highlighting the selected page more prominently, restoring the classic bold and tactile button styles, adding clear row separators in the file explorer for improved readability, and removing circular user images along with excessive corner rounding. Additional refinements like better issue counter text widths and subtle background enhancements to README titles help restore a familiar and functional workflow.

While the extension relies solely on CSS for UI changes due to GitHub's mixed page loading strategies, it effectively improves visual clarity and usability without rearranging the fundamental page layout. Code is available on GitHub for transparency and contribution.
