This game is, in my opinion, the 2nd best game ever created. It’s story is great, with major character development, relationships, hardships, and overall an amazing single player that brings great emotion of which is rare in both video games and other sources of media such as movies, tv shows, etc. It is very impressive. You play as outlaw Arthur Morgan in the infamous Van der Linde Gang, and complete various missions, sidequests, and random encounters. We’ll get into more detail about the mechanics a bit later. Anyway, on your journey you empty rounds into enemies, witness terrible deaths and tragedies, and even end up stranded on a cuban isle. This is where the mechanics become much more important. You can not only buy a variety of weapons, cosmetics, horses, and other various items, but use them on anybody you like. That includes murder of innocents, which you can shoot, dismember, stab, slice, blow up, burn alive, trample on, etc. Of course, the player chooses to do this, and the game does a great job of making you feel guilty for it. Not only do you have an honor system, which increases or decreases depending on your actions, other camp members will yell at you about it, npcs will treat you less kindly, and if you kill enough civillians police will fire upon you as soon as you’re spotted. Overall, a great game with fairly detailed gore mechanics.
