NYSE Top 50 Trades Firefox

NYSE Top 50 Trades

Live NYSE top 50 stocks, sortable by company, trading volume, price, sector, change, and up/down direction. Auto-refreshes every 60 seconds over Yahoo Finance. All data fetched client-side. • No tracking. No data collected.

Features & Capabilities

📈 NYSE Top 50 Trades brings the pulse of The New York Stock Exchange directly into your Firefox sidebar — live prices, percentage changes, and trading volume for 50 blue-chip NYSE stocks, refreshed every 60 seconds.

🔍 WHAT IT DOES: Operating as a persistent Firefox sidebar, the extension fetches a live batch quote from Yahoo Finance every 60 seconds and displays the results in a high-contrast neon trading-terminal interface. No API key. No account. No setup.

⏱️ TRANSPARENT UPDATE CYCLE: Unlike static tickers that update silently, NYSE Top 50 Trades makes every refresh fully visible: • 🔵 A progress bar fills left-to-right over 60 seconds — you always know where you are in the cycle. • 🟡 The bar turns gold and pulses during the active fetch. • 🟢 A status dot breathes green when data is live, flashes gold while fetching, turns red on error. • A live countdown ("Next update: 42s") tells you exactly when the next prices arrive.

📊 WHAT YOU SEE PER STOCK: • Ticker symbol and full company name. • Last price in USD — glows green ▲ if up, red ▽ if down from previous close. • Percentage change with directional arrow. • Trading volume formatted as K / M / B. • Colour-coded sector strip on every row (gold = Finance, orange = Energy, cyan = Tech, and more).

🗂️ SORT AND FILTER: • Click any of the 6 column headers (Symbol, Company, Price, CHG%, Volume) to sort ascending or descending — active column glows gold with a directional arrow. • 8 sector filter buttons (Finance, Energy, Tech, Consumer, Health, Industry, Telecom, Travel) let you instantly narrow the list — perfect for Fed days, earnings season, or oil price moves. • A thick, permanently-visible scrollbar keeps all 50 rows accessible at any time.

🏛️ THE 50 STOCKS: A curated roster of 50 high-volume NYSE-listed names spanning 8 sectors: 💛 Finance: BAC, WFC, C, JPM, GS, MS, USB, AIG, MET. 🟠 Energy: XOM, CVX, OXY, SLB, HAL, COP, MRO, DVN. 🔵 Tech: IBM, MU, PLTR, HPE, ORCL, AMAT, GLW. 🩷 Consumer: F, GM, KO, PG, WMT, MCD, NKE, CCL, LVS. 🟢 Health: PFE, JNJ, MRK, BMY, ABT, UNH. 🟣 Industry: GE, BA, RTX, LMT, CAT, MMM. 🟡 Telecom: T, VZ, CMCSA. 🩵 Travel: AAL, DAL, NIO.

The list is fixed and curated — not dynamically reshuffled — ensuring reliable, uninterrupted operation all trading day with no API keys required.

🔒 SECURITY-FIRST ARCHITECTURE: ✅ No data collection — explicitly declared in manifest.json via data_collection_permissions: ["none"] . ✅ No telemetry — no analytics, no tracking, no external pings beyond Yahoo Finance. ✅ No eval() — safe, audited code meeting Firefox extension standards. ✅ No innerHTML — all DOM built with createElement and textContent. ✅ Input validation on every API response field before it touches the UI. ✅ Minimal permissions — only the two Yahoo Finance host URLs required. ✅ Content Security Policy locked to script-src 'self'.

🎯 PERFECT FOR: • Investors and traders who want a persistent market panel while working in the browser. • Finance professionals monitoring sector moves during trading hours. • Developers and privacy-conscious users who want a zero-tracking, zero-account market tool. • Anyone curious about how the NYSE's most-traded names are moving right now.

⚙️ TECHNICAL: • Firefox 140.0+ desktop only · Manifest v2. • 60-second refresh · ~390 API calls per trading day (within Yahoo Finance free limits). • Three-tier fetch fallback: batch primary → batch fallback → 50× per-symbol. • No storage • No background scripts • No account required. • Runtime Execution RAM Footprint: ~43 KB (core scripts: manifest.json + sidebar.html + styles.css + ticker.js). • Total Extension Download/Install Size: ~ 102 KB (including README.md).

🔒 SECURITY-FIRST ARCHITECTURE: 100% Client-Side • No Data Collection • No Tracking. • No Account.

📈 NYSE Top 50 Trades: The New York Stock Exchange in your sidebar. Sort it. Filter it. Watch it move.
