NutriScan Firefox

NutriScan

NutriScan is an all-in-one browser-based solution for Nutrition Facts label processing.

Features & Capabilities

NutriScan provides you with meaningful nutrition information, enabling you to make informed decisions with ease.

NutriScan is designed to integrate with all grocery stores and food services within the US, where an FDA compliant Nutrition Facts label is present on their website.

To start, while on a grocery store website, simply click the NutriScan extension icon in your tool bar, and enable NutriScan to run on the site.

Features:

  • Custom metrics: Any metric of your choosing, such as caloric density, protein density, fat density, and more, can be directly added to existing Nutrition Facts labels
  • Meaningful interpretation: Upper & lower bounds may be set on any custom metric, allowing for meaningful interpretation at a quick glance
  • Edit serving size: The serving size on any label can be edited, enabling you to specify either a serving size or caloric value to scale the entire label to, allowing for easier comparison across products. This is also helpful for knowing the exact macros in a given amount of food, or to know how much food to eat for a given amount of calories.

Is NutriScan Safe?

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

NutriScan does not require any sensitive permissions.
