Review summary

Users appreciate that Note Text Reader effectively reads long texts aloud, is easy to use for note dictation and proofreading, and works reliably across various devices. They value its accessibility benefits, especially for those with reading difficulties. However, common concerns include limited voice options restricted to Google TTS, a restrictive character limit without saving reading position, instability issues like freezing and note deletion with paid restoration, dislike of the new small icon, and poor differentiation between similar characters like 'O' and zero.
Pros
  • App reads long text aloud effectively, useful for people with reading difficulties or visual impairments.
  • Straightforward and easy to use for typing or dictating notes and having them read aloud.
  • Works well across multiple devices including phones and tablets, and even when screen is off or app is backgrounded.
  • Helpful for proofreading by listening to notes read aloud to catch errors in punctuation and spelling.
  • Developer is responsive and the app is recommended for its functionality and reliability over years of use.
Cons
  • Current text-to-speech options are limited to Google voices; users desire more diverse and immersive voice options like those in Microsoft Edge.
  • The app has a character limit of about 40,000 and does not save reading position or allow clicking on specific sentences to read from.
  • Some users experienced app freezing or deleted notes without easy restoration; restoring deleted notes requires payment, which frustrates users.
  • The app icon was changed to a smaller, less liked design, upsetting some users who prefer the original icon.
  • The app pronounces characters like 'O' and '0' (zero) the same, causing confusion in contexts that require distinction.

Exactly what I asked for. I need to something to read my long long text or something I don't have the patience to read and I found it. Now is there any way I can change the voice to make a sound like something or someone else that's something I wish I could find is an AI voice program that can take someone else's voice and accent and use that as my read out

If you have text messages or notes that you can type this app is great to use. The scan shot and the download PDF is bad. If you have the time to type out you notes or anything you need read for you. This is a good app.
