User reviews

F.Block Sponsored is praised for effectively blocking sponsored ads and unwanted Facebook content without collecting user data, offering a privacy-friendly and free solution. Many users report a significant improvement in their Facebook experience, with fewer ads and irrelevant posts. However, several reviews note that Facebook frequently updates its platform, which causes the extension to stop working properly until updated. Some users report the extension allowing some ads through, inconsistent performance on certain platforms or locales, and minor UI interference. Overall, it is valued but requires ongoing developer maintenance to remain effective.
Pros
  • Effectively blocks Facebook sponsored ads and unwanted posts, improving user experience.
  • Does not collect user data, respecting privacy.
  • Free to use and regularly updated, maintaining its utility over time.

  • Works better than some other adblockers for Facebook, including on mobile devices.
Cons
  • The extension sometimes stops working properly due to Facebook changing their site, requiring frequent updates.
  • Occasionally allows some ads or sponsored posts to slip through.
  • Does not always work consistently on all platforms or regions (e.g., reported issues on Chrome desktop or Italian Facebook).
  • May interfere with some Facebook UI elements, such as video controls.
  • Users sometimes experience declining effectiveness over time without timely updates.

usually pretty good. since this addon is free and doesnt collect our data, facebook is pretty much always able to afford designing their website in worse and more convoluted ways specifically to stop adblockers from working as intended. i understand that it's basically impossible for a few devs or a solo dev to compete with such a massive corporation, so i expect it to stop working about once a week or so, or some new problem with it. that is not the dev's fault, and they are doing very noble work from what i can see. because it only works a good 4/5 of the time, i can't give it 5 stars, but for a free service you arent going to get much better than this. thanks fblock!

Excellent extension! Now I see what I *WANT* to see, not what they want me to see (over 100 unrelated posts in a row sometimes). Working fine as of 22 June 2025.

I just installed this, cleared my Chrome browsing data, and hopped on FB. I can't believe it actually works. The amount of 'Sponsored Ads' on Facebook was getting absolutely ridiculous. I'm talking like every other post, sometimes even 3 or 4 posts in a row were 'Sponsored Ads'. I hope this extension stays updated and keeps doing what it's doing because I was seriously thinking of abandoning FB.
