What is Chrome Bookmarks?

Chrome Bookmarks is a unique extension providing users the flexibility to quickly and easily change the favicon of their bookmarked URLs. It renders a personal touch to your bookmarks by making them stand out. However, it requires the option 'allow access to file URLs' to be enabled in the browser extensions page. Also, this extension needs to remain active for the customized favicons to persist. It does not associate directly with Google and is developed by an independent team.

Important! - You can change the favicon of bookmark URLs only if you enable the option "allow access to file URLs" on the browser extensions page (chrome://extensions) (see screenshot).

You need Bookmark Favicon Changer to be active to continue using your custom favicon. It is not possible to change the favicon and uninstall the extension; your custom favicon will be removed.

I tried two other favicon changers and this was the only one I could get to work, so I guess it has that going for it. As a previous reviewer mentioned, you have to open the bookmarked page you want to change the favicon for; then change the favicon; and finally, you have to click to close the favicon changer dialog, then open it again before the favicon changes. What it actually does is change the favicon in the page's tab and thus create a corresponding change in the bookmark favicon. I'm probably dreaming, but what I'd really like is to be able to change the icon for a whole domain. It does change the bookmark favicon though and that's what I wanted it for. Thanks.

Doesn't work on other Chromium browsers like Edge

Extension Works, but you need to "allow access to file URLs" in properties. And click extension icon every time to show new icons, because when you click bookmarks, chrome update icon to the default.
