GLITCH.ext

GLITCH.ext is a dynamic Chrome extension that allows users to creatively glitch the visual elements of any website. By enabling the extension, users can distort images, text, and nearly all HTML components with a simple mouse click. Real-time interaction is possible by moving the mouse cursor over the glitched elements, influencing the glitch effect seamlessly.

The extension includes customizable settings such as toggling glitch effects on or off, refreshing glitches, selecting image formats for glitching, deciding whether links are exempt from glitching, and enabling a feature to download glitched images. These temporary visual distortions can easily be cleared by refreshing the webpage, making it a safe and experimental tool for artistic and web exploration purposes. Built upon the p5.glitch library, GLITCH.ext was developed in conjunction with the 2021 Net Works program for the House of Electronic Arts Basel.
