Features & Capabilities

THE SILENT HOURS I: LIBER UMBRARUM
Until Lauds

The Abbey of Saint Cuthbert. England. A.D. 1148.

Brother Anselm is dead.

The infirmarian says his heart. The Abbot is not
certain he believes that. Neither are you.

A manuscript is missing — chained to its lectern
by Prior's order since 1132, unchained tonight by
someone who knew what it contained. The gates are
locked until dawn. The Sheriff comes with the sun.

You have until Lauds.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

A pure text adventure in the tradition of the
classics. No graphics. No sound. No animations.
No hand-holding.

Just you, a cursor, and a medieval abbey full of
secrets.

Type what you want to do. GO NORTH. EXAMINE CUP.
TALK TO CEDD. TAKE KEY. The world responds.

Or tap — a minimal interface is available for
those who prefer it. Both paths lead to the same
truth. If you find it.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

THE INVESTIGATION

Ten rooms. Six suspects. One manuscript worth
killing over — or so someone believed.

Move through the abbey in the hours between
Compline and Lauds. Examine what others missed.
Talk to those who were there. Piece together what
happened in the scriptorium before dawn breaks
and the moment passes.

The evidence is there. Brother Thomas is patient.
So is the truth.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

MULTIPLE ENDINGS

What you find determines what justice looks like.
Full evidence leads one direction. Partial evidence
leads another. And those who look deeper — past
the murder, past the manuscript, into the stones
beneath the abbey church — will find a third path
that asks a question with no easy answer.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

BUILT FOR THOSE WHO REMEMBER

Green text on black. Monospace font. A blinking
cursor. The smell of vellum and cold stone.

If you spent any part of your childhood staring
at a text prompt willing a world into existence,
this was built for you.

If you never did — there is no better time to
start.

NO NONSENSE

No ads. No accounts. No network connection.
No tracking. No in-app purchases.

Completely offline. Completely private.
Everything stays on your device.

Please consider praying for the developers.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

THE SILENT HOURS is a series of standalone
text adventures. Each is complete on its own.
Each asks a different kind of question in a
different kind of dark.

Liber Umbrarum is the first and in the vein of Infocom's Zork. ASCII retro fun at it's best and finishable in 15-45 minutes!
