2022-04-16 | Freedom Wings | This extension doesn't work for me for text images in Chrome browser (which is why I wanted it). When I'm on a webpage, and click on the "image" icon in the extension, a whole new page opens up with a black background and a resizable box in which to place an image. It seems this should be an overlay on the current webpage I was on, but it's not. Opening a new blank webpage with a black background is useless as there is no way to capture the image from the page I was on. Please help or fix this. Thanks! :) Update: I figured out that the image "icon" in the extension window must be for taking a photo of some text (I had my laptop camera lens covered with black tape, thus the black screen), but this is only good with a phone, not if you are using a desk/laptop. For this application, you need to right click on a text image to get a drop-down option to use the extension on the image. I tried this extension on 2 text images. On one of them, I just got an error message saying it couldn't upload the image. On the other, it was very laggy and glitchy, and then cumbersome -- (it wanted me to invert the colors no matter which way I started), then I had to jump through hoops with many steps for the ID which was not at all intuitive and whose 1st results were SOO far off (no resemblance to the simple text font selected). (I chalked this failure up to my learning curve.) I tried again, and it asked to separate the letters w/red lines. The lines would not draw at all until after multiple (e.g. 10) attempts. After a lot of work and time, I finally got 3 font ID results that had different font names, but all looked exactly the same (essentially one choice that was close to the selected font, but not exact match, and no free ones). This had very mediocre results for me. :(:( This seems to be more glitchy work than it's worth, but I'll try it a couple more times before giving up. I hope it becomes useful. (Also, the extension won't open on some websites, so they must have some restrictions...?? On others sometimes I have to click the extension more than once for it to open. It's temperamental.) | ||
