Opening a sketch in a new tab on PC (mouse): Click middle (mousewheel) button
Opening a sketch in a new tab on Mac (magic mouse):

Use a tool (e.g. BetterTouchTool) to map opening in new tab (CMD + Click) to middletap for instance for Chrome
