User reviews

Users praise 'Modern for Wikipedia' for its attractive, modern redesign and better usability compared to Wikiwand, especially on Windows and Linux. It offers customization options and is free, adding to its appeal. However, several users report technical issues like infinite page reloads, often linked to network configurations or platform (notably Android). Additionally, some desired features like color inversion for images and improved link/media display are missing, indicating room for refinement.
Pros
  • Provides a beautiful and modern redesign of Wikipedia pages.
  • Considered better and more pleasant to use compared to Wikiwand.
  • Runs well on Windows and Linux platforms.
  • Allows some customization, with potential for more (e.g. custom fonts, themes).
  • Free and offers good value compared to competitors.
Cons
  • Experiences infinite page reloads or redirects on some configurations, especially related to network subnet masks and on Android devices.
  • Lacks some features present in competitors, such as inverting colors on images with transparent backgrounds for better dark mode support.
  • Link display and media viewer could be improved for better aesthetics and usability.

just got off wikiwand in favor of this; super promising and pleasant to use! more customization is always nice (custom/imported fonts, color wheels for themes, etc), but not at all immediately necessary. i think the header text is a little bit too large compared to the body, but that's nitpicky. really big fan :D

Beautiful on Windows/Linux, but still stuck on the 'Wikipedia' page on Android. Please could you sort this.
