'Estimations sum for Jira boards' is a timely Chrome extension that adds a valuable feature to Atlassian Jira's scrum boards. It calculates the sum of all 'remaining estimates' displayed on the scrum board for each column. And if filters are applied, the extension intelligently recalculates to only include those issues that match your filter settings. Additionally, it showcases the number of issue cards per column.

Atlassian Jira's has a feature to capture estimations and remaining estimates in issues. You can configure Jira to show these numbers on the issue cards in scrum board.

I found it useful to see the sum of all issues for each column. Unfortunately, Jira lacks such a feature.

When turned on, this Chrome extension will calculate the sum of "remaining estimates" for each column, taking into account all issues being displayed. If you apply a filter, the sum will be calculated only for the issues matching your filter settings.

With version 1.00, the plugin additionally shows the number of cards, per column, in brackets. This additional feature was added by Jan Topiński (simcha).

The extension was tested with Jira cloud and with Jira 7.3.8. Happy to get your feedback!

This is really a great idea and very helpful. Unfortunately, right now it seems that it cannot handle multiple swimlanes in a kanban board. It always counts only one swimlane, or none. it works if you apply a filter which results in displaying 1 swimlane only.

To make this work you first need to configure the custom field on "Card layout" in the Board Settings. Don't forget to choose the field as "Σ Remaining Estimate".
