I can't read the code but even if it's now harmful, once the permission is granted the developer could always change its behaviour in any future update. What a shame, I found it very useful. Please remove c&p requirement!

The address bar and default search are blocking the search system, also when using the context menu and highlighting words to initiate searches; even if the desired url is configured in the extension settings, a different domain is entered, the Bing search remains, why? In reality, Microsoft Bing allows developers to earn points that can be redeemed for gift cards to stores such as Amazon and Fast Food because the developer earns money by misleading users with Bing queries. It's not true that the browser controls everything. Other than the default Chrome extension, there are others that don't alter the address search bar or the context menu. 90$ a year? Uninstalled. Chrome's default new tab page far better
