- Simple and easy to use; multiple users describe it as fast and practical.
- Useful for cleaning up after long research sessions and consolidating windows/tabs.
- Several reviewers feel this functionality should be built into Firefox (highly desired feature).
Cons
- Discoverability: the merge action is hidden in the tab right‑click context menu with no obvious toolbar button or menu entry, causing confusion.
- Lacks clear instructions/documentation — several users said they struggled to find how to run the add‑on.

Is Merge Windows Safe?
Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.
Merge Windows requires a few sensitive permissions. Exercise caution before installing.
