What is Chatterclock — Track Your GPT-4 Messages?
Chatterclock — Track Your GPT-4 Messages is a Chrome extension that provides real-time tracking of your message count when using GPT-4 on ChatGPT. It helps users stay within the 40-message limit set by OpenAI by displaying the number of messages sent and remaining. The extension displays a badge with this count and notifies users when their message limit resets, ensuring they can maximize their usage without manually tracking counts. Chatterclock also adapts to any changes in OpenAI's message limits and supports separate tracking for team workspaces.

Summary

OpenAI has a limit of 40 GPT-4 messages you can send every three hours (or 100 for team accounts), but the ChatGPT UI doesn’t show how many messages you’ve used.

This extension keeps track of how many messages you’ve used and have left. It shows this as a badge on the extension icon, and also tells you when you’ll get more messages.

The extension automatically tracks changes to the OpenAI limit and adjusts accordingly.

If you are a member of one or more team workspaces then it tracks the count for each team workspace, separate from your personal account.

ChatGPT changed their rules unexpectedly, breaking the app for many users. I reached out to the dev, who responded very rapidly, and very professionally. Within a day, the app has been fixed, and is working again. I highly recommend this app, and realized how much I'd come to rely on it once it was down. I'm surprised ChatGPT doesn't have this functionality baked into their app. At any rate, great app, great dev team, and highly recommended. Most of the bad reviews on this are because ChatGPT changed something, breaking the app temporarily, so hopefully it can recover some of the bad reviews it got over the past day or two.
