Menu Extractor Firefox

Menu Extractor

MenEx (Menu Extractor) analizes the current webpage and it automatically extracts its main menu, hidding the other components (text, images, pans, etc.) of the webpage.

Features & Capabilities

MenEx (Menu Extractor) adds a single button to the Firefox toolbar. When this button is clicked, the current webpage is analyzed and the main menu of this webpage is automatically extracted (all components of the webpage are hidden except the main menu).

The algorithms used for the detection of the menu use densitometric analyses of the HTML code (hyperlinks density, tags density, etc.). For this reason, in those webpages where the menu is dynamically generated using some technology such as JavaScript, the detection could fail.

This addon can be also useful for developers, because detecting the main menu is a fundamental task helpful for, e.g., detecting the topology of a website, extracting the template of a webpage, etc.).
