Meet Companion

By: suiflex Add-on
Turns the captions Google Meet and Microsoft Teams already show into AI meeting notes: summary, decisions, action items, risks. Everything stays local except what you send to your own AI provider.

Features & Capabilities

Meet Companion reads the captions your meeting already displays and turns them into notes you can actually use.

WHAT YOU GET • Executive summary and a timeline of what was discussed • Decisions, with the moment each one was made • Action items, detected while the meeting is still running • Risks and open questions • A weekly digest across meetings • Ask questions of one meeting, or of your whole archive • Export as Markdown or PDF

WHERE IT WORKS • Google Meet — live capture • Microsoft Teams — live capture • Zoom — import an exported transcript or an audio file

YOUR AI PROVIDER, YOUR CHOICE Bring your own: OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, OpenRouter, Azure OpenAI, or sign in with a ChatGPT or Google account. Prefer nothing to leave the machine? Point it at Ollama, LM Studio, or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint you run yourself.

PRIVACY There is no account, no server of ours, and no telemetry — none, of any kind. Captures, the searchable archive and the notes all stay in local browser storage. The only thing that leaves is the transcript you send to the provider you picked, when you ask for a summary. Choose a local provider and nothing leaves at all.

The add-on requests no blanket host access. It reads Meet and Teams and nothing else. Integrations you enable — an issue tracker, your own sync server, Google Calendar — each ask for their own origin at the moment you configure them.

Nothing is deleted behind your back either: retention is off by default, and you opt in to a 30, 90 or 365 day window if you want one.

Is Meet Companion Safe?

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

Meet Companion requires a lot of sensitive permissions. Exercise caution before installing.

Risk likelihood measures the probability that a Firefox add-on may turn malicious. This is determined by the publisher and the Firefox add-on reputation on Firefox Add-ons Store, the amount of time the Firefox add-on has been around, and other signals about the Firefox add-on. Our algorithms are not perfect, and are subject to change as we discover new ways to detect malicious extensions. We recommend that you always exercise caution when installing a Firefox add-on.

Meet Companion is recently added, and hasn't been around long enough for us to gather enough data to accurately assess its risk level.
