Media Grabber Firefox

Media Grabber

Save any video, audio track or image the page can play. Rebuilds HLS and DASH streams, joins split audio and video, downloads whole galleries at once, and converts to MP4, MP3 or GIF — all locally, nothing uploaded.

Features & Capabilities

Media Grabber finds every video, audio track and image on a page and saves it in the quality you choose. No digging through developer tools, no pasting links into a website you do not trust. Everything runs on your own machine.

Most download add-ons only handle a plain video file, and modern sites almost never serve those. Media Grabber understands how video is really delivered:

  • Adaptive streams (HLS and MPEG-DASH) — the kind split into thousands of small pieces. Every segment is fetched and rebuilt into one file.
  • Split audio and video — many sites store them apart. Both are downloaded at once and joined back together with no re-encoding, so there is no quality loss and no long wait.
  • AES-128 encrypted segments — handled automatically.
  • Direct files — MP4, WebM, MKV, MOV, MP3, M4A, OGG, WAV and more.
  • Subtitles and images, including whole galleries.

Every resolution the site offers, listed with its real bitrate and estimated file size, right up to 4K where it exists. Take the best copy or a small one. Want only the soundtrack? Pull the audio track on its own.

Select a whole page of media and save it in one go — images and clips together. Filter by type or minimum size first, so you get full-resolution pictures instead of thumbnails.

Finish as the file you actually needed: MP4, MKV, MP3, WAV or GIF. Conversion runs locally in your browser through WebAssembly. Nothing is uploaded to a server and there is no queue.

Built by Ryonix Labs, a security practice. That shapes how it works:

  • No browsing history is collected. What you detect and download stays on your machine.
  • No account is needed to download. Sign-in exists only to manage a licence.
  • Stream reassembly and conversion happen in your browser, never on a server.
  • No third-party analytics or trackers.
The add-on contacts exactly one server, and only when you activate a purchased licence.

3 downloads a day and 10 a month, plus 50 bulk items a month.

$9.99 once, yours for good, all future updates included. One licence activates two browsers — your laptop and your desktop, or Firefox and Chrome, from a single purchase. You can see your activations any time and release one to move it elsewhere.

Media Grabber does not break copy protection. DRM-protected streams (Widevine, PlayReady, FairPlay) are detected and refused rather than half-downloaded, so you never end up with a broken file and no explanation.

Please respect copyright and the terms of service of the sites you use.

Is Media Grabber Safe?

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

Media Grabber requires some sensitive permissions that could impact your browser and data security. Exercise caution before installing.

Risk likelihood measures the probability that a Firefox add-on may turn malicious. This is determined by the publisher and the Firefox add-on reputation on Firefox Add-ons Store, the amount of time the Firefox add-on has been around, and other signals about the Firefox add-on. Our algorithms are not perfect, and are subject to change as we discover new ways to detect malicious extensions. We recommend that you always exercise caution when installing a Firefox add-on.

Media Grabber is recently added, and hasn't been around long enough for us to gather enough data to accurately assess its risk level.
