Features & Capabilities

Improvements vibe-coded on top of Tony Chan's extension.

new features:

  • share button which generates qr code to scan and/or paste url (for PictureInPicture or cast feature from other apps)
  • live badge for stream media + limited controls (forward, backward, loop excluded)
  • loop current media button
  • volume slider with mouse scroll support
  • improved thumbnail fetch for Spotify, Twitch and SoundCloud
  • slight UI redesign
  • Spotify support (a bit buggy)
  • options page: hide thumbnails, set media duration for live media
  • keyboard shortcut to open extension and mute all media
  • button to go back to previous tab (use case: you are on a tab with long pdf text, you want to turn on pip on one of media from extension; you open tab with media from extension popup, press pip button and from extension popup you can go back to tab with your pdf, so you don't have to navigate through other tabs)

User Reviews

I saw that there weren't any reviews so I'll be the first. I switched from Google Chrome to Firefox and was missing the menu where you could easily pause what audio was playing. I hunted for a few hours for a suitable replacement and am really glad that I stumbled on this one. Pros: ~In addition to the typical pause and seek buttons, there's also a loop button that works for not only YouTube but also surprisingly Spotify and even Discord recordings. ~The volume slider and mute button also work beautifully. ~The UI is very simple and buttons are big to easily locate and click. ~I've been using it for about a month now and there haven't been any issues. There's no "Oh, it won't work if I am on one specific website" or anything like that. ~There's also a reload button to reload the menu (not your tabs) in case you are not sure if it has loaded all the way (ex: when you open up a lot of audio tabs at once and all of those tabs are still loading in and the extension is working to catch them all). Cons: ~There's no seek back and forth for Spotify. Personally I'm not too bothered by that since there is a function where you can easily jump to the tab that's playing audio, but that might bother some people. ~Trying to pause and then unpause on Twitch won't work. It will pause, but you have to go back to the Twitch tab in order for it to start playing again. I'm going to guess that's because it's a livestream though so it might work differently from a video. The volume and muting do still work though so you can just temporarily mute it if you need to quickly hear something beyond your headphones. Overall, I really love this extension and am glad it got an update recently so that it stays working (even though I personally haven't found any problems).
