Baton: Metronome

Baton is a metronome with its priorities straight: a steady, even click, controls you can hit from the music stand, and a free tier that is the whole instrument — not a demo of one.

THE WHOLE METRONOME, INCLUDED
• 20–400 BPM with a big dial, ±1 and ±5 steppers, numeric entry and a giant tap-tempo pad.
• Every time signature: 1 to 16 beats over 2, 4, 8 or 16 — 6/8 and 7/8 included.
• Shape the bar: tap any beat dot to cycle it through accent, normal, ghost or off.
• All six subdivisions — quarters, eighths, triplets, sixteenths, swing, offbeats. Subdivisions are not a paid feature in Baton, and they never will be.
• Pendulum, beat dots and screen flash you can read from metres away, driven by the audio clock itself. The screen stays awake while the click runs.
• Two click sounds: Classic and Beep.

CAST IT
Send the beat to the room: cast to a TV and the click plays there — beat dots, flash and your skin on the big screen — while the phone stays the remote. Cast to a speaker and it simply clicks, loud enough for band practice. The click plays while Baton is on screen — and keeps going on your TV or speaker when you cast. Walk away and an idle cast tidies itself up after a few minutes.

BATON PRO — THE TRAINING ROOM
• Speed trainer — ramps the tempo up in steps, bar by bar, while you play.
• Gap trainer — drops the click out for bars at a time; the beat dots keep moving so you can check your internal clock.
• Polyrhythms — two voices against each other: 3:2, 4:3 and beyond.
• Setlists — save tempo, meter, subdivision and sound per song, then step through the gig.
• Six more click sounds — Woodblock, Sticks, Cowbell, Clave, Hi-hat, Marimba.
• Six more skins — Ivory, Brass, Velvet, Neon, Graphite, Glacier (Baton ships in Mahogany).
