User Reviews

User reviews show a generally positive impression of Thing Count, praising its counter reliability and simple interface, and its customization options. However, recurring issues include broken category management (counters appearing in all categories, inability to delete/edit categories), unreliable widgets (selecting counters, size, reset options), crashes during fast counting or category operations, and missing/harmful feedback (vibration). Users also request features like 0.5 increments, per-point CSV export, search, and automatic/daily resets, plus onboarding improvements. Overall sentiment is a mix of satisfaction with notable stability and feature improvements needed.
Pros
  • Great counter with customization options and flexible layouts
  • Simple, intuitive interface with multiple features
  • Useful for tracking habits and various data
  • Works well / generally reliable
Cons
  • Categories feature is broken; counters appear in every category; cannot delete/edit categories
  • Widget issues: cannot use existing counters from widget; small size; unreliable; lacks auto reset
  • Crashes when counting fast or during category operations
  • Lack of vibration feedback (or very weak vibration) when tapping
  • Onboarding is unclear; difficulty figuring out how to use the app

Nice app, sadly let down by lack of Material You icon that fits monotone theme on Pixel home screen. Icon looks completely out of place so had to leave it in tray.

Great counter. I like the customization options. However the app crashes when I try to manage categories. Currentry all counters are included in every category (making them almost useless) and I cannot change that.
