2024-10-24 | Jacob Burke | en | The Crunchbase Chrome extension is handy for accessing company and contact data while prospecting on platforms like LinkedIn or Salesforce. It provides useful insights, such as growth signals and verified contact details, and integrates seamlessly with Salesforce and Outreach. However, its free version is limited, and contact data isn't always up-to-date or comprehensive. Additionally, it lacks deeper features without a paid plan, and frequent data inconsistencies can affect its reliability. Overall, it's a decent tool but best suited for Crunchbase premium users.
2024-10-15 | User | en | It says "It appears our system has mistaken you for a bot. Please verify you’re a human by clicking the button below." even after doing it multiple times it still shows the same. Developers fix this issue #just time waste

2022-12-02 | Jacob Arnould | Great extension... but there's an authentication bug that's causing a big data privacy concern. If data privacy matters to you, I do not recommend downloading this extension until the bug is fixed. The extension only works if the permission "Allow this extension to read and change all your data on websites you visit" is set to "On all websites". If you try setting the permission to "On click" instead of "On all websites", the extension breaks. Specifically, the extension isn't able to authenticate into my Crunchbase account, and instead, I receive an error saying "Oops! There was a problem!". While I trust that Crunchbase has no malicious intent, this is seriously a bad bug. A person could think that this bug is actually implemented on purpose so that Crunchbase can harvest user browser data by forcing users to constantly run the extension in the background on every single site a user visits. I'm happy to update my rating once the bug is fixed. To help the dev team, here are some of the errors from the console: iframe-wrapper.js:formatted:46 Failed to execute 'postMessage' on 'DOMWindow': The target origin provided ('https://www.crunchbase.com') does not match the recipient window's origin [2022-12-02T23:15:08.145Z] ExceptionService - Unhandled Exception: Metadata bootstrap failure {"statusCode":0,"statusText":"TypeError: Failed to fetch","offline":true,"errors":[],"originalError":null,"headers":{"normalizedNames":{},"lazyUpdate":null,"headers":{}},"message":"Http failure response for /v4/md/applications/crunchbase: 0 TypeError: Failed to fetch"} Error: Metadata bootstrap failure {"statusCode":0,"statusText":"TypeError: Failed to fetch","offline":true,"errors":[],"originalError":null,"headers":{"normalizedNames":{},"lazyUpdate":null,"headers":{}},"message":"Http failure response for /v4/md/applications/crunchbase: 0 TypeError: Failed to fetch"}
