| 2024-05-23 |  | | en | It's my favorite screenshot and screen recorder extension - it does everything really well, and there are no crazy privacy invading permissions. There isn't anything this extension can't do that the others do - except this one's free and doesn't spy on us or send mystery data to third party harvesters. I did send a contribution to get rid of the watermarks and also because I want to support Jason. All his apps are great and privacy friendly. Side note, for some reason the audio recorded with Explain and Send is far better than on that large competitor that starts with 'Awe', which is another major plus. Not sure why but it is, especially when using a bluetooth headset like Sony XM5. Sounds fabulous with Explain and Send, and basically useless on 'Awe'. Just sayin'. The ONLY downside - and it's a big one for me - is that the videos can only be saved in the open source WEBM format. This is not great as it requires re-encoding in order to be edited, which I need to do frequently. I'd LOVE LOVE LOVE an option (for extra pay of course) to let us save our video casts in MP4 format and at 1080p or higher. |
