User Reviews
Pros
- Clean, sleek and user-friendly UI (easy to use)
- Very useful for teaching, presentations and quick screenshot annotations
- Customizable drawing options (colors, opacity/transparency, pen size and color presets)
- Reliable basic drawing tools that work well across most pages
Cons
- No dedicated highlighter/transparent highlighting mode (cannot truly highlight text)
- Higher CPU/resource usage — can lag on older/outdated computers
- Limited advanced annotation features: no text mode, stamps/symbols, constrained straight-line drawing or very thin pen sizes
Recent reviews
Does almost everything I ask for:
- Draws on the screen
- Allows you to change the screen behind the drawing while leaving the drawing on the screen
- Has convenient keyboard shortcuts
Literally the only thing I wish it would have is the option to add a shadow (ideally also a customizable color) behind the marker so that it shows up easier on a variety of website backgrounds. Otherwise, this is extremely useful for virtual teaching.

A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.
Marker does not require any sensitive permissions.
