Markdown Press

Convert Markdown to HTML, DOCX, or PDF—deliberately and quietly.
xHeader
Modify request and response headers. No ads, no malware.

Features & Capabilities

Markdown Press opens an extension-owned editor with three clear steps: enter Markdown, choose a template and HTML/DOCX/PDF settings, then review the destination and press Convert. Nothing is transmitted when the editor opens. After Convert, the Markdown and explicitly selected document fields are sent over HTTPS to md.colinknapp.com solely to create the requested file. Template refresh is a separate explicit request that sends no document content. HTML output is downloaded and never executed inside the extension. Markdown Press stores no conversion history or document content and collects no browsing activity, cookies, identifiers, telemetry, analytics, interaction metrics, or error reports. Markdown Press is independent extension software published by Colin Knapp and openly identifies the conversion service with Powered by md.colinknapp.com. One job. Done quietly.

Is Markdown Press Safe?

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

Markdown Press requires very minimum permissions.

Risk likelihood
Risk likelihood measures the probability that a Firefox add-on may turn malicious. This is determined by the publisher and the Firefox add-on reputation on Firefox Add-ons Store, the amount of time the Firefox add-on has been around, and other signals about the Firefox add-on. Our algorithms are not perfect, and are subject to change as we discover new ways to detect malicious extensions. We recommend that you always exercise caution when installing a Firefox add-on.
