Markdown Here is a highly valued, long‑running plugin that improves productivity by adding Markdown support across emails and sites, with solid Gmail and Outlook handling and lighter permissions. However, reliability is a recurring issue, and LaTeX/Math rendering often fails or corrupts content. Some users also report crashes when used with the Webpage Sidebar extension. Overall, very useful, but expect occasional instability and math-related quirks.

Pros

Extremely useful and long-running plugin that keeps getting better (permissions reduced).
Excellent Gmail support—formatting, links, code blocks, lists and bullets work as expected.
Works in Outlook.
Also works on any site that allows rich editing, not just email.

Cons

Very unreliable and often fails to work.
LaTeX support breaks (no longer works) and math-mode ($...$) can delete content.
Causes random crashes when used with the Webpage Sidebar extension.
