Summary
The app generates a change story for YouTube playlists. The story includes information about the video, including images, and includes information about the action with the video in the playlist. The data with the history is stored in a Google Drive account, so the app can run on other hardware with the same playlist history.
Description
The system is a single-page application (SPA) and expands YouTube's capabilities, allowing the user to save their playlist history.
The app data is stored using the Google Drive API in the user's account. YouTube data is requested through the YouTube Data API.
3 stars is criminal, the extension works exactly as advertised. It just might take a bit for it to initially load all your playlists (especially if you're like me, with tens of playlists containing thousands of videos), but afterwards it works fine. And of course, it can take a minute or two to update, but that's because of the YouTube API, not the extension.
Of course, it can't get the history before the extension was added, since that kind of information isn't available. But, for videos that are on the playlist, the API *can* access the date it was most recently added. Perhaps the extension could populate the history with that upon first launch? It might not be the full history, but it's the best that could be done.
It's a good extension and an amazing idea. I'm guessing it has a limit on how far it can go back because the extension states that I haven't edited my playlists ever when in reality I used too all the time but that was 3 years ago. Overall good extension just wish it went back further.
