User reviews

Users appreciate the add-on for replacing unpleasant political images with kittens, boosting mental well-being and providing comic relief. However, recent updates have removed useful features such as personalized blocks and right-click toggles, leading to decreased effectiveness and user frustration. False positives and inconsistent performance on major websites are notable drawbacks. Despite these issues, the extension remains valued for its concept and general functionality.
Pros
  • Effectively replaces images of disliked political figures with kittens, improving users' mental health and browsing experience.
  • Provides a humorous and enjoyable way to avoid triggering images during election seasons and political browsing.
  • Allows customization by adding names and terms to enhance blocking of unwanted images.
  • Easy to use and appreciated by users for its unique and helpful concept.
Cons
  • No longer supports listing or whitelisting specific people or sites, reducing control and usability.
  • Has false positives, replacing images incorrectly where unrelated images contain parts of blocked words.
  • Does not work consistently across all websites; ineffective on some major sites like DuckDuckGo, Google, MSN, and Yahoo.
  • Previously available features like right-click options to toggle or whitelist have been removed, limiting user customization.

Agree with other reviews. Shame there isn't the possibility to list people anymore, I really don't want to see Farage's or Le Pen's face. It also does give quite a few false positives. Just today one I cannot explain cause the file name doesn't have any string of characters like trump (though I guess there's elon in Belon, but then RIP a bunch of French words) There's also for some reason no longer the options to deactivate it on a single page? I use both the chrome version on Opera and the firefox version on two separate devices, and neither has the option "make kittens trump again :(" anymore to see pictures of trumpets and such when I right click. It was useful. A whitelist could also work, I guess, but you know, the right click was a good system. This was good, it could be very good again, but for now it's just mid, I guess.

Love the idea but it misses a few and gives a few false positives too where it replaces random images with cats. Allowing a whitelist of sites would be useful.
