Abdul Basit Abdul Samad (1345 - 1409 AH), an Egyptian Quran reader and one of the prominent figures in this field. Sheikh Abdul Basit enjoys the greatest popularity in all parts of the world for the beauty of his voice and unique style. He was nicknamed "The Golden Throat" and "The Voice of Mecca".
