MamaBear Health

MamaBear Health is a HIPAA-compliant app designed to help parents, caregivers, and healthcare professionals monitor and share information about a child’s illness. It is intended for children ages 0–5.

With MamaBear Health, parents can record, monitor, and securely share a 10-second video of symptoms such as coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, or chest tightness. The app also captures information about symptoms, activity, and exposure to illness or potential triggers, helping clinical providers determine whether a specialist referral, urgent care visit, or office visit may be appropriate.

MamaBear Health includes secure data sharing via a unique web link, allowing parents to send their child’s information to clinicians, family members, or other care team members. Recipients can view the information on a secure web page without downloading the app or creating an account.

The app also includes an outcome-based feature. If a child receives a bronchodilator or fever-reducing medication, parents can be prompted to update symptoms and collect a second video. Before-and-after bronchodilator videos can be viewed side by side for comparison.
