Registry Recognizer turns your Android phone into a real-time face identification camera that runs entirely on your device.

WHY USE IT

There could be registered sex offenders at your events. Help stay safe by easily identifying them by their face. High performance algorithms will isolate a best facial identification. Even if the face cannot be detected because of poor conditions, you can search your local by name or on a map to see who is registered in your area.

PRIVACY BY ARCHITECTURE

The app does not require an internet connection to identify faces. The only network use is optional bulk registry imports that you initiate explicitly. There is no analytics SDK, no crash reporting that includes biometric data, no shared backend.

You stay in control:
• Local-only storage in app-private folders, encrypted by the OS file system
• Uninstall to wipe everything — no cloud copy persists

PERFORMANCE

Registry Recognizer uses the same kinds of face-recognition models found in professional identity pipelines, tuned to run on consumer hardware:

• Adaptive IoU tracking so a single person across frames stays one record, not many
• GPU/NPU acceleration where the device supports it, with graceful CPU fallback

REQUIREMENTS

• Android 12 (API 31) or higher
• ARM64 architecture (modern Android phones)
• Camera2 support (standard on essentially all 2018+ devices)
• Around 600 MB of free storage for model assets and a starter registry
• Recommended: a recent device with NPU support (Pixel 6+, Samsung S22+, or equivalent)
