User reviews

This extension is praised for its advanced and flexible user agent switching features, including support for regex and per-tab/domain control, making it valuable for research and testing. However, multiple users report an outdated user agent list causing website errors and incompatibilities. The UI is somewhat confusing regarding filter status and active user agents. Additionally, it does not spoof some browser identifiers completely, limiting effectiveness on certain websites. Despite these drawbacks, its feature richness and URL sniffing utility make it a favored choice among many users.
Pros
  • Offers rich and flexible configuration options allowing advanced user agent settings and regex matching.
  • Supports per-domain and per-tab user agent switching, providing granular control.
  • Useful for research and testing due to its comprehensive feature set.
  • Enables non-standard user agent string usage, helpful for spoofing and hiding identity.
  • Provides URL sniffing capabilities appreciated by some users.
Cons
  • User agent list appears outdated, leading to compatibility issues with modern websites and incorrect browser detection warnings.
  • Lacks intuitive user interface cues, making it difficult to know when filters are applied or which user agent is currently active.
  • Does not fully spoof all browser identifiers, such as navigator.appName and User-Agent Client Hints, causing some services to reject the spoofing.
  • Some users experienced functionality failures on popular platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and certain video streaming services.
  • Limited or unclear logging capability and occasional confusion around applying filters versus manual settings.

Kind of a train wreck, but it does allow you to set 'nonstandard' user agent strings, which is very useful for...research. I had to use the 'pattern' feature, it wouldn't work without. Your mileage may vary.
