Features & Capabilities

Lights in Alingsås returns October 3 for its 26th edition with the theme “Movies in Lights” — a cinematic celebration where international lighting designers and students transform Alingsås into a 2.5 km illuminated trail. The event features six workshop installations and several highlights across cityscapes, nature and waterways. Installations are lit from dusk to dawn daily October 3–November 2 (reduced “night-scene” lighting 00:00–05:00).

Walking the trail is free. Download the free Lights in Alingsås app for maps, installation details and a digital audio guide available in Swedish and English. The festival blends public art, lighting design workshops and global collaboration to create an immersive, accessible experience for visitors of all ages.
