You see more with Nature Today.

Discover the animals and plants that you can currently encounter and read which nature activities there are to do in the Netherlands, the daily nature reports and journals. Nature Today is basically a free app with the aim of bringing nature as close as possible to people. Collects all information together, so that you know what is happening in nature now.

With a Nature Today account you can select your favorite species and set up personal notifications. That way you will receive the nature journal as a notification every morning, a message when the status of your favorite species changes or you can save a favorite activity.

If you want to know more about what there is to see and do in your specific area, you can take out a subscription via Shop.NatureToday.nl. This allows you to zoom in on any place in the Netherlands and get an even better picture of your immediate surroundings. Every place in the Netherlands is really every place for us: in nature reserves, in the countryside, but also in the middle of the city or on the platform. If you know what you can encounter, you look at your surroundings differently and you see more and more. This way you get to know your immediate environment better.

What's in the app?

Nature: Plants and animals that you can now encounter in the Netherlands, sorted in order of chance of detection. With beautiful photos, short descriptions and the status of the different species of plants and animals: Is the hedgehog hibernating? Is a bird on migration to the Netherlands.

News: All nature posts from NatureToday.com. Stories from nature written by top experts from nature organisations, knowledge institutions and governments. In addition, you will receive a nature news every morning, a short update about what can be seen in nature today.

Activities: There is a lot to do, enjoy and learn in nature. See which activities can be done where and when. If you want to help nature, look at “Volunteers”. The KNNV and various species associations will let you know where and when you can help. Do you want to get out and enjoy nature? Nature's Gift and JNM (Young People in Nature) selected great nature outings. If you want to learn more about nature and your environment, take a look at the lectures and courses that are given.


Nature Today aims to continuously and actively inform the public and specific target groups about current developments in nature. This strengthens the connection with, knowledge about and appreciation for nature and people are more motivated to actively contribute to monitoring, management and conservation of nature.
To this end, Nature Today works together with more than 30 Dutch nature organisations, governments and knowledge institutions.
