User Reviews

User reviews largely agree LastPass Firefox add-on used to be a reliable, useful password manager, but recent updates have caused significant concerns. The most frequent complaint is intrusive data collection and expanded permissions, with several reviewers objecting to browsing history, location, and financial data being requested. Security concerns also dominate, citing multiple breaches and opaque communications that erode trust. Feature issues include autofill errors and site-specific login failures, and Mac users report Passkeys/compatibility problems. Many reviewers recommend switching to alternatives like Bitwarden or KeePassXC, reflecting a perceived decline in reliability and privacy.
Pros
  • Historically reliable and worked well for years.
  • Provided a useful password management extension.
  • Seen by some reviewers as a great add-on before privacy concerns.
Cons
  • Intrusive data collection and expanded permissions (browsing history, location, financial data).
  • Security breaches and lack of transparent communication eroding trust.
  • Autofill and login reliability problems (incorrect credentials, site breakages).
  • MacOS Passkeys issues and broader compatibility problems.
  • Perceived declining reliability after updates; many users consider switching to alternatives.
Recent reviews
It does the basics, but is often filling in the wrong fields, and the vault UI is extremely clunky.

It's great to have a password manager and works most of the time, although sometimes it doesn't want to fill passwords or passkeys some times. It is worth to mention that LastPass has been breached multiple times in the past, so it is way less reliable than other options like Bitwarden.

I can't log in because I'm supposed to get an email that never arrives and when I want to report it, I have to log in to be able to do it, damn idiotic.
