This is a simple mobile Korean keyboard app called "GaonkeyX." For more features, use "Gaon Keyboard."

Features & Capabilities

GaonKeyX is a keyboard app optimized for mobile devices. For more features, try "GaonKeyboard." (This app was developed under a patent in 2013.)

[Features]
1. Large buttons and 6 vowel types in ㄱㄴㄷ order
● The large buttons are easy to tap with one or two fingers. For mobile devices, the ㄱㄴㄷ order is recommended, as it eliminates the need for "finding." (ㅂㅈㄷ order is also an option.)
2. Typing method to avoid the "wisps" phenomenon
● Shift typing, long-pressing, and rapid-pressing can lead to unintentional typos. Consistently use multiple keystrokes and "separators."
3. Systematic provision of coded characters: We systematically provide frequently used coded characters.

[Reason for development]
● All Hangul letters are created by combining 24 consonants. For ㄲ, ㄱ+ㄱ is sufficient. This is the principle of King Sejong's Hunminjeongeum. However, the reason shift keys are used in the two-set keyboard is due to the "final consonant priority phenomenon (the will-o'-the-wisp phenomenon)." For example, "이끼" (moss) and "익기" (steam) share the same consonant order, but the "ㄱ" in "끼" (kki) is moved to the final consonant of the preceding letter, creating "익기." This phenomenon only affects initial consonants.
That's why keyboards have traditionally treated double consonants as if they were separate consonants.
However, for typing old Hangul or for the internationalization of Hangul, the will-o'-the-wisp phenomenon must be addressed.
On smartphones, this problem cannot be solved with the "shift key" method. Furthermore, long-pressing or quick-pressing can lead to delays or unintentional typos, depending on the user's skill level. Consistent, continuous typing and separator typing are always preferable.
● Unlike English, Korean vowels do not overlap. Therefore, you can type them like ㅏ+ㅏ→ㅑ, reducing the number of keystrokes. ㅐ, ㅔ (a relic of the typewriter era) are also created in accordance with the Korean alphabet principles, such as ㅏ+ㅣ and ㅓ+ㅣ. For phones with limited space, six vowels are sufficient.

The condensed nature of Hangul is advantageous in the information age, as it allows for information to be encapsulated.
In the K-culture era, an input system that effectively implements the systematic principle of initial-middle-final combination is crucial.
