User Reviews

Users generally agree that while the RadonEye hardware works well, the companion Android app is basic and plagued with issues. Frequent problems include the app not launching, unclear or missing date/time data, unreliable Bluetooth connections, and intrusive permission requests. The app's charts and data export functions are limited or faulty, making long-term monitoring challenging. However, some users appreciate the device's performance and find the app adequate for quick daily checks. Recent updates seem to have improved graphing and data import features, but fundamental connectivity and usability issues remain.
Pros
  • Device hardware itself is considered good and functions reliably by some users.
  • The app is basic but functional for viewing current radon levels.
  • Data can be exported for external analysis using spreadsheet programs like Excel.
  • Some users find the app overall acceptable for daily quick checks.
  • Recent updates have improved trend graphs and data import/export features.
Cons
  • App requires multiple permissions (location, Bluetooth, storage) often perceived as unnecessary or invasive.
  • App often fails to launch or gets stuck on splash screen, making it unusable for some users.
  • Lack of date/time stamps on data and graphs, rendering long-term monitoring and trend analysis difficult or impossible.
  • Data saving is limited; files may be overwritten and not saved reliably; export functionality is poor or nonfunctional.
  • Bluetooth connection is unreliable; app struggles to reconnect after moving device or restarting, leading to loss of data history.
  • Charts have inappropriate scales and lack features like zooming or detailed data inspection.
  • App crashes or freezes when unable to connect to device or permissions are restricted.
  • App lacks long-term monitoring features and detailed analysis, limiting usefulness compared to the physical device display.
Recent reviews
It is disappointing this app only opens with precise location enabled. It did not ask for access beyond location and ability to connect to nearby devices (devices is to connect to the radoneye) but it should be possible to use all the features of the radoneye without sharing location. Also, disappointed in the time I wasted figuring out that not enabling location was why the app wouldn't open. The app should have said location is needed to open. Device itself is good but wont recommend radoneye.

App doesn't load past initial splash screen with logo, it just sits there forever. It's currently worthless and I can't access my device data to see trends. Extremely frustrating.
