Koala Zen

Koala Zen brings a little softness to your screen time.

At the interval you choose, an adorable koala appears at the edge of the page. First it nudges you to do the habit you want to build, moving, drinking water, breathing, three push-ups for example. Once you have done it, it comes back to whisper a short piece of wisdom, then leaves in a different, playful way each time, it hops, it rolls, it floats off on a balloon. The koala changes on every visit.

Everything is ready from the start. A library of wisdom quotes, several koalas and movement goals come built in. Keep them, add to them, or replace them with your own.

A break that feels good, not one more thing to do.

What you can do

• Choose your rhythm, Pomodoro, Deep work, Ultradian, or your own interval from 5 to 240 minutes, in steps of five.
• Set your habit goals, for example Do 3 push-ups or Drink a glass of water, the koala shows one at a time.
• Get a piece of wisdom on every visit, from the built-in ones or your own.
• Confirm each break as done or not, and rate your energy from 1 to 10, on done and postponed breaks alike.
• Follow your progress in two zones, over the period you pick your habits done, habits postponed, energy and screen time with per-day charts, and an overview with your streak shown as a progress bar toward your record and the link between your habit and your energy. Stats are kept for life on your device, with a button to erase everything.
• Snooze or pause, later, one hour, the whole day, and catch up the breaks you missed.
• Stay undisturbed when it matters, automatic pause during video calls and when you step away from the keyboard.
• Turn on focus mode, a break that blocks the page until the timer ends, for a real pause. Off by default.
• See your screen time for the day, shown under the piece of wisdom and under the gentle nudge. It resets at midnight in the time zone you pick, Zurich by default or your browser's.
• Make the koala yours, add up to 18 of your own PNG or animated GIF images, write your own quotes and your own goals.
