What is WebRequest Redirect?

WebRequest Redirect is a Chrome extension that allows you to create 307 Internal Redirects for files. It provides two options: redirect for a specific single file or redirect all requests from one domain to another while preserving pathname and search. With WebRequest Redirect, you can enjoy using new versions of frameworks, libraries, or styles without making any changes to your site.

It's exactly what I want, but it doesn't seem to work. When I enter "https://facebook.com" into the address bar, I expect the rule "*://facebook.com" to get triggered, but it just loads facebook.com.
