JIRA ShortCut

Copy to clip board jira issue as 'CMD-999: Description'

JIRA ShortCut is a handy Chrome extension designed for quick copying of JIRA issue references directly from your browser. Simply open a JIRA issue page and click the icon in the address bar or use the customizable keyboard shortcut (Cmd+J for Mac, Ctrl+J for Windows) to copy the issue in a convenient format like 'CMD-999: Description'.

Besides JIRA, the extension supports configuration for other sites such as GitHub pull requests, allowing you to specify URL and title patterns to tailor the copied text format. This flexibility makes it an essential productivity tool for developers and project managers who frequently reference issues and pull requests.

User reviews

JIRA ShortCut is praised for simplifying and speeding up the process of copying JIRA issue details with customizable formats, making it a valuable time saver. However, users frequently highlight the absence of customizable keyboard shortcuts and the distracting popup button on shortcut use. Additionally, the HTML output includes unwanted styling, and the extension's limitation to issue pages reduces its utility. Despite some configuration challenges, it is considered a straightforward and effective tool that enhances productivity when working with JIRA.
Pros
  • Highly useful and time-saving for copying JIRA issue details.
  • Customizable output formats to suit different paste targets like HTML, Slack, and plaintext.
  • Simple and effective with minimal configuration needed.
  • Works well on JIRA issue pages, enhancing communication and workflow.
  • Saves effort by automating repetitive copy-paste actions related to JIRA tickets.
Cons
  • Lacks a customizable keyboard shortcut; users want to set or modify shortcuts.
  • The small popup button during keyboard shortcut usage is intrusive, especially during screen sharing.
  • The HTML output includes unnecessary styling, which users want to remove or control.
  • Does not work on JIRA boards or in pop-up issue views, limiting usability.
  • Some users experience configuration difficulties or find the config screen unattractive or unintuitive.

Great extension, extremely useful! I was wondering if there is away I can stop the little button popping up when using the keyboard shortcut though? I would rather it didn't appear when copying links during screensharing if possible!

Great little extension! It would be nice if the html generation wouldn't include any styling, for instance this is what I get for a simple "$html:<a href="$url">$1</a>" out format: <meta charset='utf-8'><a href="http://www.redbook.io/pdf/redbook-5th-edition.pdf" style="font-family: system-ui, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; font-style: normal; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; orphans: 2; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; white-space: normal;">redbook-5th-edition.pdf</a>

Question: Should this extension work in the Vivaldi browser?
